If you’re not a big fan of the cold and love baking, then this date’s for you!
The idea is to make something together, set the table and enjoy it over some candlelight.
Turn on some music and preheat the oven, it's time to bake something delicious with your darling! For this date you'll want to gather the needed tools and ingredients first, then get together and start baking! It can be anything from pizza to steak, just depends on what you both like.
Don't forget dessert!
Make the date extra sweet by being romantic about the process! For example, when rolling out cookie dough, extending your arms around the other person is a very intimate way to go about it.
What you’ll need:
Cream together shortening, sugar, eggs, and vanilla in large bowl. Blend in the rest of the ingredients. Chill dough for an hour. Set oven for 400 degrees fahrenheit. Roll out dough and cut into desired shapes, and place on ungreased baking sheet. Bake 6 to 8 minutes.
For frosting mix powdered sugar and milk in bowl until you get a consistency you like. Separate into smaller bowls and add food dye to get desired colors.
All done! Enjoy!
You read that right! For this date you're going to make a date!
You and your special someone will need a box to place the items in and, of course, have a couple in mind to gift it to! The nice thing about this date is that it can be tailored to your liking!
Step one: Pick a Theme!
It's good to have a theme in mind for the date. Having an idea in mind will help prevent aimless shopping or struggles to think up what to add to the Date Box.
Will it be a date for indoors or outdoors? Romantic, funny, or both? Will it involve a movie or an activity? Work together with your sweetheart to come up with a plan, or use one of the dates on here as your theme!
When Andrew and I made a date box for another couple, we did a movie theme which included a bowl for snacks, the snacks to go into the bowl, a blanket to snuggle under, and the movie. We also threw in a little joke gift!
Step two: Shopping!
Recommended: Take a trip out to some stores and buy things that fit the theme of your date idea for the couple! Grab something to drink on the way there, have fun and tease about the possibilities!
Alternative: If you don't really like browsing stores in person, or if it's hard for one or both of you to get out, you can shop online! This can make it a lot easier to find something you know they'll love.
Keep in mind that you can also always make gifts, which turns the gift box into a fun project for you and your honey to do! Consider printing out Date Cards (index cards with a different date idea on each one) and packing them in your couple's gift box.
No matter what, be sure to treat yourselves to something nice while you're shopping!
Step three: Packing!
Once you've got the presents, it's time to pack up the box! You could use a gift basket or bag as an alternative to a box.
Step four: Give it to your couple of choice!
I hope you had fun making it! Now gift it to the couple and enjoy their surprise!
