A date 1 year in the making!
For this date, you'll need a large box or chest to store things in!
On New Year's Day, you and your special someone start filling a box with things to make up a date with. Things like wrapped gifts and cards for each other as well as games you can play together, movies you can watch, or candles you can light are all good ideas! Continue adding to the box all throughout the year, but don't go digging through it to see how full it is or what's inside! Just add your items and leave it alone. Wrapping things helps prevent the other person from getting too curious and spoiling things.
On New Year's Eve, take the box of goodies and set it out, then at midnight (or in the morning on New Year's Day,) open up the box and explore its contents together!
If you both enjoyed the process, start a new box for next year!
When the good packing snow blankets the streets, it's the perfect time for a snow date!
Start off by setting out two mugs with cocoa mix inside on the counter. (Alternatively you could set things up for making tea if you're just not a hot cocoa fan!)
Place a kettle on the stove, leaving it off for now and switching it on when you get back! (even if you're only going as far as your own backyard!)
What does one do on a snow date? There are the usual options;
And then there are some more unique ideas. I recommend gathering buckets you'd use for building sandcastles and building a snow castle! You can also mix it up and build fort walls, then have a snowball fight from behind them as you try to take down your darling's defenses!
Snow leaves a lot of options, so bundle up and go have some fun with it! When you're ready to call it a day, return home to some hot cocoa and cuddle up next to each other as you reflect.
It's almost Christmas time, which means many neighborhoods will have lovely displays outside!
With your dearest, take a walk around town at night, looking at Christmas lights. This date is best when there's snow!
Too cold and icy? Or are you not able to do the walk? A slow drive with Christmas music on can also be romantic!
End the evening inside with some hot cocoa, tea, or coffee, while Christmas music plays softly in the background. Talk all about the Christmas holiday and enjoy it to the fullest together! Also share some of your best memories from a Christmas in the past, then memories since times together, and what you imagine for future holidays.
